I observed these King Penguins on the beach for quite a while a they enjoyed each other's company. These birds are so fun to watch as they have a lot of character and seem to have a happy go lucky attitude to life. King Penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus). East Falkland Island, Falkland Islands.

Gentoo Penguins will often travel is groups. I was watching these groups come ashore and the speed and apparent choas of these waves of birds coming ashore. (Pygoscelis papua) East Falkland Island , Falkland Islands

On High Alert

I watched as this striated caracara landed next to this Magellanic Penguin burrow in the peaty earth. This quickly got the attention of the occupants who were closely watching the movements of the striated caracara. I think there was probably a young penguin in the burrow . Magellanic Penguin ( Spheniscus magellanicus) and Striated Caracara (Phalcoboenus australis). Sea Lion Island, Falkland Islands.
